It's my favorite place to recharge my batteries. I love the fresh mountain air, the heated pool, the space, the neighbours, early morning coissants and coffee and the late nigh views over a glass of local red wine. I look forward to returning.

I wouldn't normally leave reviews, but after a visit to Couiza and stay in this house I felt compelled given how delightful it was.
The views from the balcony are amazing and the space lends itself to socialising while watching the sun set. The interior is beautifully finished and there's ample space for cars, and bikes in the garage. All the bedrooms are spacious and the pool is large enough for a good swim.
We ate at the Chateau down the hill which was lovely and wondered back up to the house which is within walking distance of the local shop and restaurants.
I will definitely be taking a few more friends out next time to explore the valley and Carcassonne more.

As a long standing leaser of holiday homes, I can say this is one of the best we have ever had. Cool and high and spacious. Impeccably clean. Nice modern decor. The vast communal kitchen/living area is almost like a great hall in a castle. Set up on the hill in a quiet leafy spot, (quince trees amongst others), the house overlooks the village, (fun to sit on the terrace and track round the shops those of your party sent off to get the baguettes), and looks over to Rennes Le Chateau. Go there on foot if you are energetic. Concerts regularly held there.
No need for the more crowded coast when you've a gorgeous big pool landscaped into to back garden. I loved its grey lining which gives almost a lake feeling. We swam by day and night.
You can get to Carcassonne by train from a point close by.
We recommend the very nearby restaurant at the Ducs' palace, dining in the courtyard.
Canoeing and kayaking on the river Aude looks fun.
